Servant Leadership Experience:
-I spent two separate falls volunteering my time as a coach in the Bismarck Midget Football League where I coached a team of 5th and 6th grade boys. Here I taught them about the game of football and other important life skills.
-I spent the annual day of service my sophomore year volunteering my time at a retirement home helping with landscaping work.
-ELA 2015- Made blankets for Sanford Hospital.
-ELA 2014- Provided a day of learning activities for the children at the YMCA.
Professional Experience:
-State Historical Society of North Dakota and University of Mary History Program- Organized an event at the Heritage Center about WWI to educate the public.
-Member of NEA
-Practicum Experience- Mandan Middle School with Mr. Henry Lau, Simile Middle School with Mr. Jim Petrik, and Bismarck High School with Mr. Brad Leingang.
-Coaching- I have spent much of my time during the summer as a coach. I have coached football for two years, baseball through Bismarck Parks and Recreation for another two, and golf with Dakota Junior Golf Association for the past two.
Diversity Experience:
-Through coaching I have been put in many diverse situations. I have had athletes with learning disabilities as well as physical disabilities. I have worked with kids ages 5-18 both boys and girls of all different races and cultures. I have had to plan and adjust lessons and games to meet the diverse needs of my athletes.
